Step 3
Wipe down all sanding residue with towels and Tamco HR-397 Wax and Grease remover. Do this in sections, and change towels frequently. Wipe the hull down until you see little or no color on the towels. If you discover any flaking on the hull's surface, like old clear coat, re-sand the area until it's gone.
Step 4
Cover all areas that will not receive clear coat with blue masking tape and paper or plastic sheeting.
Step 5
Amerflint II (or our Duraflint 1) Mix ratio (see TDS sheets)
Apply a light, smooth, slightly wet tack coat to the surface. Allow tack coat to "flash off" 30 to 45 minutes. Then apply a full, wet coat to achieve coverage and film thickness requirements. If preferred, 3 coats may be used. Allow second coat to "flash off" 30 to 45 minutes until only slightly tacky before applying third coat. In three coat applications, coats two and three not "full, wet" coats. The second
coat is a slightly heavy tack coat with the third coat just wet enough to obtain full hide or color coverage.
Step 6
Allow 3 Days Cure time before putting into service- Total Cure is from 14 Days (Amerflint) to 30 Days Duraflint 1 at 78 degrees F  Always FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS, It is best to REPAINT Gelcoat using Tamco Epoxy Primers first, then using Tamco Color Coats and Clear coats. Clearing over sanded gel-coat is a band aide solution that will only last several years.
